Other than that, I've been playing around a bit with these sunflowers. I haven't had the time to really focus on a portrait. Hopefully, on Monday. And I've been working hard with Bruno, teaching him to come onto the bit. This is the sine qua non for dressage, and I'd forgotten how physically and mentally difficult it is to get and keep a relatively unschooled horse on the bit. AARRRGHHHH! But we're doing it, in short increments - 10 to 15 seconds at a time. We'll both gradually get stronger with this. The last time I went through the procedure, I was 20 years younger. And Bruno is no feisty 4-year-old. So we are both a bit stiff. :) But it will come, and we will both be better for it!
As always, your comments [and probably questions about "on the bit"] are most welcome. |

Yes, you have to explain "on the bit" to a city girl like me, Kathryn! The sunflowers are fabulous, I love them! Lots of success on the art show, I hope the signs help!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the art show - and the bit!
ReplyDeleteNo questions about the bit; I watched the Horse Whisperer last weekend and the Electric Horseman the weekend before:-)
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower is looking great. You've got it just the way I think of them--tall, somewhat scraggly wild flowers that always make you smile.
The signs look great. Best of luck on your advertising! Ive started advertising with posters around town and when I go see them I see that the number tags have been pulled off but I am waiting to see if anyone will call ;)
ReplyDeleteIndeed I did not understand what "on the bit" means! Will you please explain :)
ReplyDeleteThe paintings are coming on fantastic. Its amazing how some painters like you can work on many paintings parallel. Its just impossible for me :)
And, ofcourse, all the best with the show this year. I am sure there will be many more visitors this time. :)
Hope your art show goes well today Kathryn! More signs and arrows may help! (Can't hurt) (From a former sign bus. owner.) :-D
