I think I left the gray here ... |
It's just a slow, fussy process of adding depth and detail using wet-in-wet technique. |
While darkening the right side edges, I decided to add some drizzles of gray on the left to suggest rain falling. |
I am at this point now, carefully putting in shadows and other details in the head area. I must admit I like the soft grays. |
The babe was done, but lacked ground and depth. |
Glad you're taking your time with these!!! They're coming along beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI think taking your time is absolutely the right way to go. The delicacy in each of these is so beautiful. I love that little babe!
ReplyDeleteYour grays are wonderful and babe is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSlow and steady wins the race! Lovely WIP pictures :0)
ReplyDeleteThe gorgeous light you've captured in the greys in the top portrait just glows - take your time, it's working beautifully! The babe is a giraffe baby? You aren't going to add in any dark spots? Or maybe some babies don't start out with those patches of darks? I'll have to catch up with previous posts to see how you began and what you planned for this one. Keep working, keep sharing - loving to see how you slowly build and work and don't rush and overwork it :)
ReplyDeleteThe grays are looking very good. Babe looks like a babe and the background will fall into place. Slow and steady does indeed win the race.
ReplyDeleteboth are beautiful. love to you,Diana
ReplyDeleteI continue to watch your progression with delight!

So sorry I mistook your filly for a giraffe baby! Maybe it was that just the long neck was showing and the short mane? No excuse, I know :(
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful.
