It does not look over worked at all!!! We like it,,, each painting tells a story of its own,,,

Not overworked at all - just good, strong darks! And the portrait is looking very good.
ReplyDeleteDear Kathryn I think your woodland scene is gorgeous and not over worked at all. Your art is amazing. Really does make a difference too when you put in a background...his face did look so much lighter. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOur mom so wishes that she had your talent, Miss Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

Dark background really brings the face forward. Its going to be a beautiful portrait, Kathryn.I am amazed how you manage to make your paintings sparkle even after so many washes. If I work on a painting for more than two sessions,it is bound to end up in the bin! My colors go muddy and the paper looses its sheen when I try this method ..
ReplyDeleteI think your woodland scene is coming along beautifully Kathryn. As far as your portrait!!! I LOVE it so far...adding the dark background brought him forward and I love his skin! It amazes me how you make watercolors look so easy! nice work!!!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking myself how much lighter the face looks with the darkness added behind... It's a very interesting composition and it's great to see it progress. And I like the woodland scene... I was thinking how strong the sense of light is! Can't see anything wrong with it! :0)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a difference with the dark background - I am looking forward to seeing the completed piece.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing your process, K. !
