I've never painted anything like this, so it was a good opportunity to experiment a bit. I must say, the entire process was approached with a much more casual approach on my part. Not so much of the "stay inside the lines" attitude. Madame Turtle took about two days of play, and I am quite pleased with her. It was fun and fast [for me] and I enjoyed the process.
I've enjoyed seeing the stages - and the finished painting - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI could see this painting in one of the art studios of Hilton Head Island, colors are so peaceful, I can almost hear the ocean....wish I were there right now, drinking my coffee....
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job on mr. turtle! Wonderful! :-)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, super job on this!
ReplyDeleteLoved it. Super cute..
ReplyDeleteIt's very interesting to see how you progress in your work! I believe that one of the real difficulties is to take the decision that this was the final touch: "Now, it's ready"!
ReplyDeleteYour work has a very soft, gentle and appealing quality to it. It seems to me to be calming in a turbulent world. This turtle piece is wonderful and thank you for sharing the ref photo and the process. Its always great to see how another artist approaches their work.
ReplyDeleteI looove turtles, I have two of them at home , and this one is no exception, wonderfully done and very real.
