Tootled around Aldergrove, picking up food supplies for me and all the beasties. It was a gorgeous day!! |
This evening, I was crawling around the rafters of the barn, trying to get shots of the baby swallows. Here's their nest - empty- built on an old light fixture. |
i SOOOO enjoy your walk around the farm! I'm glad you carry that camera.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice post... I always like to read about your days.
ReplyDeleteWe love hearing about your life on your farm. You have so much happening! And we know how momma birds can be very cranky when you are in their space!

I love so much all people loving animals! Have a beautiful day, dear Friend!
ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteThat third photo you have posted is screaming loudly to be painted..
And I wish you could have made friends with the little chap who cant fly till now.
Wonderful photos, Kathryn! Enjoy the sun too! We have a sunny day here too, but thunderstorms are expected at the end of the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day - and we've had several of those lately!! Wish I was riding with you (of course, I haven't been on a horse in decades but I'm sure I could stay upright if I tried! ha ha).
ReplyDeleteMust have been a really wonderful day Kathryn...look at that smile on your face ! Do llamas keep coyotes away ?
ReplyDeleteYour lifestyle is so interesting, Kathryn. So different to mine (mine is interesting to me for other reasons ;0) ).
ReplyDeleteI love swallows. We used to have flocks of them darting to and fro across the river Don, catching flying insects. Then it all stopped - bet it was insecticides and the farmers.
Looking forward to the bridge
The nest with feathers: I hope to see soon a watercolor of you.
ReplyDeleteNice to see other species of swallows than those who fly by my house and have a white belly.
Kathryn your day reads so attractive to this city girl. I like the peace of it--and no traffic on your road! Your bridge is coming along just fine, better to spend your day in the sunshine. Some artists give up making art in the summertime. They'd rather be out paddling themselves sore in a lake.
ReplyDeleteKathryn, I thoroughly enjoyed this group of photos!I always love seeing Bruno - he is just so gorgeous! And I am watching the horseshoeing watercolor as it progresses. The photos under different lighting were so interesting. Which did you find to be most true?
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful day and wonderful pictures. One day I will ask you to share some pix of your "babies" to paint them one day :0)

What beautiful surroundings you have! You must love it! :0)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love a tour of the farm and you and the lad look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAre llamas the same as donkeys when it comes to defending sheep?
i seriously want to live where you live. every shot is a postcard waiting to happen. just stunning surroundings and great shots. love the one of you and the lad. i also love the continuing saga of bruno. great work as always.
ReplyDeleteand thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog. take good care.
