And Batman was finally picked up but the purchasers, and taken to the framer. My riding instructor and some of her students commissioned it for another [horse] trainer.
As for life in general, I am thrilled! One of my sister's friends manages a car dealership, and he found another car for me. I fell in love with it! It is a lovely graphite-colored Golf, and I am picking it up tomorrow.
Classes are going well - at least the watercolor class. I will also be teaching a drawing class, starting tomorrow. I have a rough outline, loosely based on the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". It's always something of a challenge teaching these classes, as I don't know what, if any, experience the students have had with art, and it is a bit demanding teaching something which comes to me quite easily. So I always plan for the absolute basics, and take it from there. Drawing tomorrow will be upside down, to dissociate the analytical/ verbal half from the holistic/creative side.
That's it for now. Thank you for dropping by! |
Very interesting art blog and so wonderful painting in the farm !!!
ReplyDeleteWe love seeing your paintings. They always bring huge smiles to our faces ☺
ReplyDeleteAh Kathryn- you have certainly been busy friend. First and foremost Batman (what a great name) is superb! Love the creative touch with the batman symbol. I think the cropping of the tugboat will perfectly finish this piece. So glad you didn't toss it. I can feel that misty atmosphere. Certainly captured the fog with your glazes. I am sure your drawing class will be successful. Been meaning to sometime read "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". As always friend enjoyed seeing what you have been doing. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA collection of beauties, Kathryn, all of them! I especially love Batman! :) Good luck with the paintings, the new car and the drawing class!
ReplyDeletewow wow wow!!! so beautiful!
ReplyDeletelove
tweedles
looks like a very content cow :)
ReplyDeleteyour little goslings turned out wonderfully, cute and fluffy like the real thing :) be interesting what take #2 of the texture looks like
Your animal paintings are one more beautiful than the other, but the winner is Batman, he is amazing ! xx
ReplyDeleteAs always you have a feast of paintings for us to see! I love the little Goslings in particular, but they are all lovely! :0)
ReplyDeleteTake your time with the tugboat Kathryn....it's coming along so beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteI quite like the tugboats even in the larger format, but you decide! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are so busy with painting so many different things! Looking great, but one thought - the grass under the cow is so pale compared to the cow...perhaps a little more intensity there? Love the tugs and the mist the best but the goslings do make me smile when I see them :)
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Kathryn you are so busy! Where do I start? The cow looks really content; wasn't it a milk advert that used to plug, 'Milk from contented cows." ? The goslings are fluffily good and the 'flower' is being reworked. Batman is gorgeous they are bound to love the painting.
ReplyDeleteThe Tug Boats could turn out to be really special ... a cold crisp morning with the mist rising off the water, I really think you should perfect this one, it looks spectacular to me!
I just love the feeling of your work so much. It makes me feel so good!
ReplyDeleteLove the little geese. And love the photos of works in progress. Reading your blog is like little mini-painting lessons.
