I left these this morning as the black stripes were making my eyes wonky. I went into town to visit my aunt, and when I got home, the urge came on me to finish them. There may be the odd touch-up [you know me :)] but essentially the wild shoe painting is done!
As always, your comments are most welcome! |
This is fantastic, Kathryn! I love the zebra shoes and the shadow work is terrific...This is one of your best...sorry, I'm sure I've said it before but this is wonderful.

The only thing you could add to them is another painting, but with leopard pattern. This might start a new series "Where The Wild Things Are", Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Kathryn, you've done a wonderful, successful painting! The way the lighting is done in the background really showcases the shoes. They are so interesting that I want to know more about them! Are they yours? A friend's? They are so cool!
ReplyDeleteOh what a surprise, they are zebra shoes! Great painting!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fabulously artistic, love these wild shoes, and you certainly didn't choose the easiest position ! I think the shadows are incredibly important here, beautifully done !
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Stage lighting, dramatic. Powerful and so well done!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful painting Kathryn! There is a sense of playfulness and mystery to this piece. Who owns the shoes...is she standing just beyond the shadows?!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent job on these wildlife heels! You know how a dog stretches with his chest touching the floor? That's what first came into my twisted mind...Lol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Kathryn!
Love it!! Really neat way to paint the shoes. The Surrey Arts Council is planning a show next spring called "Just Shoes"' if you still have the picture you should enter it. Keep up the great work, I always enjoy your subjects.
ReplyDeleteWow,,,,really interesting object. The shadow makes me think as well.
ReplyDeleteHello Kathryn:) Your shoes turned out wonderful!! I wouldn't wear them myself but I love to look at them:) The background is so nice and the shadows and two black lines make it perfect. So well done!!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful!! I especially love the fading background and how the white of the shoes contrasts with that. AWESOME job Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteLOVE them! They just resonate vitality - love the long shadows and the indication of floor boards. Well done, Kathryn!
