I had to resort to masking fluid. Then I could start work on the central blossom. |
I am at this point now - very close! If you have any questions about colors or techniques [John] please feel free to ask. |

Hi Kathryn,
ReplyDeleteIt looks that the background flowers look pretty "busy" (just like your life); but the colors are gorgeous! And when you finish the central front flower I bet it will attract all attention to it.
Great painting in progress!
Thanks,
Irina
Lovely tone of rose for the flower, I'm impressed by it's beauty !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower painting.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are keeping busy - good luck to aunt for her surgery x
Wow - your flower painting is exquisite! Really beautiful colours and a real feeling of light too. Wonderful :0)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work as always, Kathryn!!!
ReplyDeleteThe painting is beautiful! Good for you, having a veggie plot. I say I will every sing year and have yet to do anything but grow tomatoes in pots on the deck.
ReplyDeleteI was outside for about an hour today, cleaning and weeding in front of the house. It looks better but I can tell there is a high pollen count today!
What will you be planting?
I will ask, Kathryn, thank you. I'm having a go at a bunch of roses at the moment ... that should generate a few questions.
ReplyDeleteWatching your great WIP is really instructive!
Beautiful flower! The deep value of the shadows behind the flower does a marvelous job of anchoring the focal point.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful this is. I can feel that flower blooming in front of my eyes. And that boot painting has come out awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteI dont know whether my previous comment was published or not. In case it is not then I want to tell you that I loved the boot painting and this one is beautiful..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece of work Kathryn! I do love the variety of the greens and the colorful pinks too. It is good to see a photo of your compost producer too. :D I hope your Aunt has a successful surgery Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteThe floral is truly beautiful, Kathryn! Great colors...so intricate...captivating.
ReplyDeleteI pray that all goes well for your Aunt.
Another gorgeous painting! You do such wonderful work. I am lucky to have a Kathryn original. Looks like the varnishing went well with your bird. Hope your aunt's surgery goes well.
ReplyDeleteYour animals are fantastic and flowers aw well.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could do like you.Really attractive way of painting.
