I left it here last night. |
I was up at 6 AM [???] painting. I painted the rest of the background with the violet/black mixture, then found it looked too dull. |
So I went over the top and right with violet and indanthrone, in a scrumbly manner. |
STILL too dull, so I painted the same area with phthalo blue w/w. |
I think this is the last you saw of Bruno and his farrier. |
I've been playing with it a bit, as I wait for the paint to dry, or for inspiration to hit me on the head. As always, your comments are most welcome! |
The rhodie is looking good. Great job on the background! Bruno is looking good also but I hope you are wearing a helment.
ReplyDeletethat flower is definitely alive! It's really looking good! I thought I was alone...Sometimes I get up at 6am and paint as well!! I guess I'm a "little" obsessed sometimes. The leaves are beautifully painted, Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteI think you are on the right track with your flower painting. The scumbly manner really adds texture to your background. And I really looooove that blue corner in the bottom of bruno's painting.
ReplyDeleteYour right- the flower is coming alive. The last photo of it- we said awwww!!!

ReplyDeleteIt is looking good, Kathryn!
ReplyDelete6am! You obviously found lots of inspiration from this piece. And it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Painting.
You are really doing a beautiful painting; can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog also!
Blessings, Linda
Looking terrific, Kathryn! It is coming alive:) I'm still in awe of the lifting techniques you've been using and am chomping at the bit to try them out!
ReplyDeleteYes,both of your pictures are alive and calling to you. The flowers are looking great, I am sure when you bump up those shadows it will really glow. Bruno's picture already is taking on a life of its own, check it out on the screen, very interesting shapes and the colours are starting to bring it alive. Nice work both of them. And quit with the negative thoughts, Frankenstein should not be in the same room with your work. It really is starting to glow!!
ReplyDeleteThey are both coming along brilliantly ... looking forward to the finished products
ReplyDeleteI always love the energy & light in your flower work.It is looking good, glow and You are really doing a beautiful painting.
