These are a few attempted portraits of the son of a friend of mine, and their beloved dog. |

Making full use of a sheet of paper. |

Several tries on a friend's cat. |
I've been doing a bit of a much-needed clean-up - throwing out all I don't use or need. Yes, I am re-cycling all the paper! I thought you might find it amusing [I did] to see some of my old paintings from ten and more years ago. I notice, looking at them, I have kept to pretty much the same themes. Well, at least I am consistent. :)
As always, your comments are most appreciated!
Your work has grown more beautiful.. love,Diana
ReplyDeleteYou've come a long way, baby! :-D
ReplyDeletethey're all wonderful, Kathryn!! isn't it interesting to see how we've grown??! Your work gets better and better!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathryn, looks to me that you could put a whole art show with those paintings.. The story of life and development :0)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
Irina
Gosh! I don't know where to start! I really, really like so many of these--regardless of their age--especially the geese, the car and the cat! I'd say your work CONTINUES to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't really throw these out, there are some great things here , and things that seem to need the finishing , maybe you just turn the paper and start a new painting on the back ? But it is funny to see how we you developed in time, nice post.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous way of seeing your own progression isn't it? I wish I hadn't thrown my old work away :0)
ReplyDeleteLoved looking at these.. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to go through all old works ...I love your paintings..especially the cat series is very nice!
ReplyDeleteThe painting that grabbed me immediately was your female figure with her hands on her hips. That is different from all the rest. You used the whole page and the composition is quite good. You had a good handle on the values too. Hold on to it.
ReplyDeleteAnd what happened to that horse's rump? Were you suddenly called away? Or does he just have odd markings? You've come a long way since then. :-)
Love seeing your progress over the years and the emotinal content that you now express so easily.
ReplyDeleteI always like it to look at my very first paintings. Sometimes I must also laugh. I would not dare to put them on my blog:) I find it very brave of you! The one with those cats you should not throw away. They are so beautiful! Or am I too late?
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend:)
It is great to look at your older work and see how much progress you have made! Brave to show us!
