This was a more traditional portrait drawing. I quite like this one. I'll try painting it, once I decide on colors. |
Thoughts and tangential meanderings on horses, painting, and anything else that captures my interest

ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteI love the poured painting of Miss P and friend. And as for your sketches, they are just wonderful..
I really like them both, but I must admit the second one is my favorite.. Such a happy face!
I will drop by to see your progress...
I have just been adding WIP photos to the same post, on my angel relief... I am finished with the sculpting, and have give it the first wash of acrylic... I will do at least three more washes in earth tones.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your WIP paintings... I will return.
fondly,
Penny
Love all these sketches, Kathryn.... yes, like Carol I LOVED that last one! I can't wait to see it finished!!
ReplyDeleteI really loved the first one as well...definitely loose and beautiful....is that one finished?
I love the strong and simple image of the painting. And your sketches are wonderful, miss P. is a great model!
ReplyDeleteDear Kathryn - just catching up on your posts. Feel like I have been away longer than just a few days. Love the idea of the background of the Golden Bridge...looks like two friends are off for a fun filled walk. Your pours are superb! Hope you had a delightful week-end.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these - The dogs have such character and the simple pallet of the top one really is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's so nice to just draw! I've just posted a figure drawing on my blog which is something I don't do nearly often enough! I'm definitely going to do more:0)
Kathryn, thanks for wandering over... Yes, I know what you mean about the 2nd sketch, but you have to admit, it is sweet!
ReplyDeleteI am still applying washes to the angel... I will post when she is finished...
I hope you will come by.
Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful work.
fondly,
Penny
I can see a whole picture-story book coming out of this, Kathryn. Miss P looks a good protagonist, ready to fill the roles your imagination invents for her et.al. and a ready model for your brush.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely can't wait for the next episode
