| Somewhere in Greece ... 20.5 x 9 in. image/ framed and hanging in my sister's place I was going through some older paintings I'd had framed. I am taking them to the gallery at the center where I teach, and hopefully they will find a new home! But when looking at them, I realized how much more I like my older work. It seemed easier to create them in those days, and was more fun, too. I believe I have let myself get too caught up in the competitiveness of marketing. Time to let that go, and find my love of art and drawing and painting again!!! I haven't posted in a while as my camera has been in for repairs, but soon ... Thank you for dropping by! |
Take art too seriously does cramp your style. I like my older pieces too! They are freer, less uncut reed with theory and how-to garble. These should be gone in a flash; they are impressive every one.

It is very easy to get caught up in all of that and sometimes it can end up being quite stressful! They are all gorgeous paintings! I hope they all find a new home soon, but meanwhile you can always hang them and enjoy them until it happens :0)

ReplyDeleteJohn Simlett has summed up what I was going to say. I've had a break from commissions for a year now and that has rekindled my enjoyment and I'm experimenting more than I've been able to do in years.
