   This painting will be fairly large, about 17 x 21 inches of framable image, when completed. I'm going quite slowly, many layers of glazing. And, contrary to my usual habit, I am painting the background first. I thought this wiser, as the peony has such beautiful, light values. I hope to finish the leaves this weekend, and paint all the background preparatory to starting the flower. To be continued ...

   I know lately it seems all I do is chase after chinchillas, and "play" with Bruno. But hey, I work, too [sometimes] I did this rose for the upcoming ShedRow Christmas Fair, to be held this coming Saturday. It's a small [9.5 x 7.5 in.] watercolor, unmatted and unframed. I will be putting the price at $80.00 Cdn. Another post coming tonight.

   I spent the whole day in "dental hygiene" mode, so I'm fairly drained of any creative energy. I'll just make a short explanation. Here, at the FARM. my landlady is a very avid gardener, with several rose bushes, some of which bloom into December. These are my interpretations.
