I touched up the post, glazed over her hair, and did a bit more shadowing on her face. |
Here I've touched up the shirt, and worked mostly on her hair. I think I'll leave it for a bit. My inclination is to glaze a bit more color on her face, but I'm not sure ... |
No grass is growing under your feet. I think more color in the face, but let my seconding of your opinion sit for a bit. The sun flower is glorious. I like the way you've drawn the twisted petals; looks scraggly. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe girl is coming along well - it's going to be a lovely portrait.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are most painters favourites, and I can see why.
Looking forward ti Trigger.
You have a very good reference picture of this girl, Kathryn...and this portrait is absolutely beautiful. I think the color is good..maybe darken the shadows that are there already?? and the sunflower is awesome already...great job!!
ReplyDeleteHello Kathryn:) The girl is so beautiful! Let it rest for whil will do no harm. You make the right choise, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI already see that your sunflower is going to be wonderful. Great job. You're such a great painter!
What a great Dancing Sunflower is being born by your artistic talent Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteGreat beginning :0)

She's looking good, so far, Kathryn. But I feel you know you want to do more, but later :)
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower is fab and I can't wait to see your finished version. Get on with it, can you?
The girl is looking more and more gorgeous as you go along with finishing it up. Can't wait to see how she looks like after your finish with it. Good luck!

Hi Kathryn! I LOVE your sunflower! I am struggling with painting them at the moment, and looking at yours inspires me to continue. And the portrait is already fabulous, you got some expert advice from portrait painters, I see.
ReplyDeleteOh thats awesome. I like that face a lot.. I think the face part is done. Some soft edges at the hair and face boundary may be....
ReplyDeleteThese both look great! I admire your portrait work - so lovely!
