Boots Are Looking GOOD

I have started working on some of the dark detailing, to give me an idea of values for mid- and light-tones for the rest of the painting. 

To get the old scruffy boot look, I have used a combination of w/w and scrumbling.  I think it's coming out quite well. I may like doing still-lie as much as animals and florals!

    This is looking really good. When I saw it on the blog sidebar, I thought, "She's painting pink boots??" ha ha Then came over to see better - a definite pinkish underpainting but I see where you're going and I bet these are going to be great. Isn't it fun to take something "boring" and make it beautiful?

    Oh, yes! This is going to be wonderful! I love paintings of old boots - Van Gogh first showed me just how wonderful they can be. Your composition is great and this beginning bodes well for a fantastic finale!
