One Done and Some on the Go ...

I think I finally have this "quick" painting done. The shadows look credible. I just have to decide how to crop it - 6 x 8 inches or 6 x 6 inches, and then mount and varnish it. I thank you all who commented and offered advice - it was a help, and I appreciate it! 

Yes, another goose painting. They are all screaming out of their barn, happy to be outside. The above is the drawing I have put on the watercolor paper. I am doing a lot of color swatches, and will get to a value sketch today.

This is Kristie. Several months ago, I offered to do an animal portrait for a fund-raiser for the Pacific Riding for the Disabled. The portrait of Buddy was put on display as an example of my work. Yesterday, I got a call from the owner. I went over that afternoon, and had a lovely visit with both of them.  Many photos were taken, and I have some of the owner's photos as well, so now to get a great drawing done. Kristie is a beautiful American Cocker Spaniel, with the most incredibly deep, intelligent eyes.

    Your water colors are among my very favorite. there's a deep richness to them that just brings me joy! Beautiful, beautiful bloom! and i LOVE your geese, can't wait to see it done.

    I really like the reds in the upper parts of the shadows in your floral!
    The goose drawing is a masterpiece in goose enthusiasm! Spread wings, the high stepper, and the under peeker!! Lol! Great, Kathryn!

    The geese painting is going to be a smash. I can tell from the drawing. It's full of action--and geese honking. Congrats on the commission! Nice PR. The dog is a sweety-pie and will give you hours of painting pleasure. Knowing your work, it'll be a wonderful painting and the owners will be thrilled.

    The flower is all about beauty, like a lady in a skirt flying in the dance with love.. The birds crowd is definitely telling a story.. Can't wait to see the work-in-progress :0)

    Your flower painting is incredible! I love the contrast and the deep purple blue. It's really so striking. :) And the geese are going to be amazing! I love your geese, you give them so much personality. Also that cocker is the cutest one I have EVER seen. What a pleasure to paint!
