It was my lovely niece's high school graduation yesterday. Here she is with my aunt, opening a gift. |
Yes, that's me, and I did get out of my usual barn gear when I went to the ceremony. |
Here's Paulina with her mom. |
Even her brother came out from Ottawa to attend. And Paulina just gave him this haircut! |
Some hibiscus from Steph's garden |
These will be painted, and that's my only reference to painting. |
I had to take pics of this cool antique car, parked outside the Orpheum Theatre downtown, where the grad ceremony was held. |
And life on the farm continues. The baby swallows had their first flying lessons yesterday. |
Some were not as brave ... |
... as others. These two managed about 15 feet before they landed. That's all for now. Thank you so much for dropping by! |
Lovely set of photographs. It looked like you all had a great day out. The swallows, flowers and the car all like subjects for painting! Thanks for sharing such happy events.
ReplyDeleteThe hibiscus flowers are just gorgeous! We don't have barn swallow babies in our barn this year but there is a nest in another barn that we visit on a regular basis and those babies are getting ready to fly too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your niece. It's a whole new chapter in her life. That last photo of those baby birds made me laugh...........they look so grumpy. LOL
ReplyDeleteA great day, congratulations to your niece! Love the swallow babies! :) The hollyhocks are gorgeous and great for painting. Soon the hollyhocks in my town will be flowering as well, and time to take lots of photos.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your day with us - and those baby swallows look so grumpy and cute, I'd have to try a painting or two of them before they fly away :) Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this special time with us! A beautiful story indeed. Loved the swallows too. And the Orpheum? Oh my. the best grand theatre in the world. Love that place. You geese and rose paintings are brilliant Kathryn. You do have a way with watercolour.
