| It was all detail work ... painting the mast, darkening the shadows, indicating the ports and hatches ... I also darkened the hull, and gave it more of a working tug appearance with some dry brushwork. |

ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautifully, Kathryn - the effect of the fog is brilliant and I am in awe of how you have accomplished it in water color. And I am bursting to tell you how I love the paper mache boxes! How creative and fun they are! I can't wait to see the finished menagerie!

There's annAsian influence in this painting that sets an exotic tone-- the play of highly precise detailed work against the hazy background. Very interesting combination, a step out of your realm. Nice.
