I Am in FULL Nit-picking Mode ...

Madelaine, waiting for her time in the ring
She did exceptionally well last summer at some big shows.
Reference photo
Started another one last night, leaving background white
Slowly and carefully adding glazes here and there

When I looked at the painting this morning, I thought, "HAH ... a piece of cake!" Now, not so cakey. I thought to go in, and just flood colors in, but we all know that doesn't happen in real life. RATS! I know I am finding it slow and a bit frustrating because I keep getting up to diddle on the computer. WHAT did we do before computers?????

  1. Madelaine is such a Beauty! I can't wait to see the results. I see she is your faithful model for several years already :)
    Thank you for sharing,

  2. We did chores before the computer

Looking forward to seeing the finished painting :) xx

  3. She is coming along beautifully. I liked the background on the first one as well. :)

  4. Kathryn, it is coming out beautifully.

  5. I really like the fact that you are not afraid to start over. Persistence is key to success. Good luck with this one Kathryn. Put the pedal to the metal and drive on! (ERRRRR! ;-D)

  6. madlaine is stunning. horses are among the most majestic of animals i think. i can relate. sometimes i sit down and think this is going to go fast and it just never does. i'm not really a patient person anyway. and the computer!! really, i can't seem to stay away from it! i keep taking breaks to surf. i think i should move it out of my painting space. lovely beginning!
