More Geese ... and ... Indulging My Passions ...

First, a word from the muse - Maggie loves to snuggle on the bed when I am painting, until she thinks I have done enough, and then demands some TLC.

A return to an old idea - re-drawn, and hopefully better prepared as far as color and composition.

And this is the indulgence. I LOVE armor!!!  When I was very young, the family would occasionally visit one of my father's friends. Their home was like a museum - cases full of fascinating things ... Native Indian artifacts, sabres, muskets, weird stuffed animals, Indian masks and fetishes, even a shrunken head. For a child, it was heaven!!! And one of Dr. Bell's relatives even had a complete suit of armor in his home!!!! ZOWIE! It was love at first sight; I can still see it in my mind's eye. So here I am working on a drawing of a knight and horse in armor. We shall see what I can do with this ...

Thank you for dropping by!

  5. Hi Kathryn,

I'm so glad Maggie is bringing you joy! She seems so happy being in your home.

I love the start you have on the Geese parade painting! Looks like it's going to be a very nice piece!

Who would have known you are into armor! I can see why now with the exposure you had to Dr. Bell's collection! How cool for a kid!

  7. your dog made me laugh,,,how cute is that!! How wonderful that you could save her too. I think she found herself a good home. Fabulous Geese inn progress too and this armor looks interesting. In summer we have Knights in shining armor who fight against each other at festivals,,,,that would be something for you wouldn't it. Have fun!

  8. I'm envious that Maggie will sit in the studio with you. Kenya refuses to come into mine....of course, she's not getting any attention when I'm painting. Have a great weekend!
