Here It Is - Warts and All ... A Bit of Planning Would Have Helped

I started darkening ...

... and darkening, but I cannot fix some of the composition flaws, so this is it for the geese. I may paint it again in the future, but only after doing a value sketch, giving more thought to composition, and creating a good color scheme. Live and learn!

Thank you for dropping by! Comments are always welcome!

  1. I think that it is lovely and worth persevering with! I can see that the geese need their own shadows on the floor which will anchor them down... you've already done the shadows of the columns... Once you add those I think it will make all the difference :0)

  2. I can see the composition flaws, it is the heads of the geese following the horizon line. Still a great painting, Kathryn, and I hope you will do this subject again one day.

  3. Live and learn and begin again - its all part of this art journey we are on. You will figure it out and make this idea come to life - I have no doubt!

  4. i adore your geese in the monastry! I liked them.the most in warm burnd orange, but as it is cold and a lot off shadow in a monastry, i needed cold shadows...
